Arranging A Funeral

Each funeral is unique, and each family will have their own wishes for honouring their loved one.

We provide a comprehensive service which covers all aspects relating to the funeral.

We seek to support each family in making the necessary decisions and choices at what is often a difficult and harrowing time. Families can be confident that all services will be provided with professionalism, dignity and sensitivity.

When a person dies

Arranging for the care and transportation of the deceased and appropriate preparation/preservation and presentation for viewing.
We will liaise directly, on your behalf, with all those involved in providing the various elements of the chosen funeral, (church, cemetery/crematorium, florist, newspapers, radio stations, organist, soloist, choir etc).
Arranging settlement on your behalf of all third-party fees associated with the service/arrangements.
Help you through the process of obtaining a Death Certificate and any other necessary documentation, both before and after the funeral.

Embalming

All embalming is carried out by a qualified embalmer.

Coffins

Assist and advise in the selection of a coffin from our showroom. We stock a large selection of coffins and caskets, including eco, varying in price, from the most basic to the more expensive, all of which are on display in their completed form. Prices are available on request.

Headstones

Advising and arranging for the erection of a new headstone or having additional inscriptions or renovations applied to an existing one. If you have purchased a new grave, we will provide a suitable marker for your convenience until such time as you are ready to discuss the erection of a new headstone.

Repatriation

We provide a repatriation service. Where a death occurs abroad, we will arrange for the remains to be brought home for burial, which will include:

Obtaining the necessary documentation in the locality.
Presenting the documentation to procure permits for the destination country.
Preparing the body for shipment to include embalming and dressing.
Supplying repatriation coffin.
Completing all travel arrangements.

Cremation

A cremation service, like a burial, takes place in your local church. The coffin is then taken to the crematorium where a committal service takes place much like what would take place at the Graveside.

The cremated remains are then returned to the family and arrangements are made for burial or, if preferred, the scattering of the ashes in a space that is special to family. We will arrange and advise you on all the necessary documentation in relation to the cremation.

Advanced Funeral Planning

It is becoming quite common for individuals to plan for their funeral for the purpose of ensuring their wishes are carried out and to minimise the stress on those left behind in terms of managing the funeral arrangements.

lf you would like to discuss Advanced Funeral Planning with us in strictest confidence we will meet with you at the location of your choice to talk through your wishes, to advise and assist in whatever way we can.

We will arrange to draw up the details of your wishes for your approval and to have them forwarded to your executor/solicitor for the purpose of ensuring your specified wishes are carried out.

Registering a Death

Following a death, a registered medical practitioner who attended the deceased must complete and sign part 1 of the Death Notification Form (DNF). Part 1 includes the Medical Certificate of the Cause of Death (MCCD).

This form is given to a relative or civil partner of the deceased, or if there are none, to another qualified informant. This form is then used to register the death. A relative, civil partner or another qualified informant must register the death within 3 months of the death occurring by contacting either of the following:
